The roots of Shazzoo go back to 2001 where we started to develop a simple solution for basic web content management. Af that time the productname was 'InfoSphere QuickSite' and the focus was simple: 'create a software product to maintain a website'.
Since then Shazzoo changed dramatically. First of all we noticed that all 'software-products-to-maintain-a-website' looked and worked the same. Basically they all had a form based interface that, after filling out a lot of fields, would turn into a web page. Which is very pragmatic for the developer, but was not very user friendly or intuitive for the user of the software.
In 2003 we worked out a whole new vision of what web content management should be like. In this vision, we had a very strong focus on creating a product that would be easy to use and intuitive for the end user and which would in a visual way allow the user to build up it's web page using simple building blocks.
In 2004 we finished our working concept and presented this to one of the worlds biggest electronics companies and received a very enthousiastic response to what we presented them. We received a 'carte blanche' to do a conversion of their intranet to reflect our vision. Additionally we created a new QuickSite release, in which we implemented our vision.
In the years from 2005 to 2008 we further improved our product and in 2008 we decided that QuickSite should get a more recognizable identity and the product was renamed to 'Shazzoo'.
In 2009 and 2010 we performed 1.500+ site implementations and migrations..
In 2011, because of the success of Shazzoo, it's unique features and mature stage we decided Shazzoo should no longer just be a product but should continue as a company dedicated to web content management. To achieve this, Jan-Willem van Helvoirt of eXultance and Erwin van den Berg of InfoSphere joined forces and founded the company Shazzoo.
Allthough the company and product have changed a lot, our vision is still the same: 'Make web content management easier and more intuitive'. Shazzoo 100% WYSIWYG.
